Shima Maezono (前園 シマ, Maezono Shima) is the Chief of Staff at the 2nd Suoh mansion who has worked in the employ of the Suoh family for many years and serves as Tamaki Suoh's primary instructor as it pertains to Japanese culture, customs and language.

- Shima's surname Maezono means "previous/previously, before, earlier, in front, former, above, one-time, fore part/privy parts/privates, miss, presence, portion, for, since" (前) (mae) and "garden, park, plantation" (園) (sono/zono).
