==It' the last day before break and Kyoya is woken by Tamaki and the gang (excluding Haruhi) to go to an expo at the department store and they witness the low blood pressure demon king at his worst. They dress a reluctant Kyoya and drag him to the expo and drop him on a bench. They look at all the stuff around them and quickly leave a sleeping Kyoya by himself. Kyoya sits on the bench and runs into Haruhi who wonders what he is doing. Kyoya states that he is hungry and ask that Haruhi pays (the boys forgot to bring his wallet or phone) but to save the receipt and that Tamaki will pay her back ten fold. Haruhi wonders why Kyoya is acting so indifferent while he ususally is kind and welcoming. Kyoya "reads" her mind and tells her that he is acting indifferent because their is no audience and nothing for him to gain. He tells Haruhi that everything he does is for his benefit to advance his social standings. Haruhi comments on that why he would ever be friends with Tamaki when they are nothing alike. Haruhi learns that Kyoya works so hard because he is the third son and no way he could inherit the family patriach. As the day goes on Haruhi sees more of Kyoya's indifference. They encounter a lady at a stand about to buy expensive bowls but Kyoya cuts her off and tells her the bowls are frauds. The man is taken away by the police and the lady thanks Kyoya. Haruhi asks Kyoya why he intervenes and Kyoya exlains that the woman was the wife, because of a ring, of an important partner of the Ootori Group. Kyoya moves on and asks Haruhi why they would flavor products with melon if the main ingredient is corn and this is counterintuitive. Haruhi laughs and says that is exactly something that Tamaki would say. Haruhi later realizes that Kyoya is not as different from Tamaki in their generous dispositions. She says that there was no way he could of saw the woman's ring and he really wanted to help the lady. Kyoya looks back at all the times Tamaki has helped others and sees that Tamaki does benefit even if it isan't in the way Kyoya thinks. Then Tamaki realizes that Kyoya is gone and reports a missing child which upsets Kyoya even more with Tamaki. Kyoya and Haruhi go find Tamaki and see he has bought a dog. At the end of the episode Haruhi asks Kyoya why he doesn't just act nice because it comes natural to him and it's counterintuitive. Kyoya then watches Haruhi walk away.
