The Host Club must race against time to keep Tamaki in Japan and save the club from disbanding. Kyoya recieves a call from Shima that Tamaki was leaving Ouran with Eclair and planned to marry her in France. Distraught, the club heads out to the parking lot and attempts to chase after him, but is stopped by officials. Just as things look dim, Honey and Mori drive a horse-drawn carriage into the officials. Mori instructs them to use to chase after Tamaki. Hikaru, Kaoru, and Haruhi board the carriage while Kyoya, Mori, and Honey stay behind to distract the guards.

Hikaru drives the carriage too fast and it ends falling out of the carriage and breaking his arm. Kaoru immedietly rushes to his side while Haruhi stays behind. She watches them for a brief moment, then decides to take matters into her own hands. Swiftly, Haruhi removes her wig and throws off her dress jacket and sits in the drivers seat of the carriage. She grabs hold of the reins and, before the twins can stop her, races off to go and stop Tamaki.

Meanwhile, Tamaki sits solemnly in Eclair's car, saying nothing. Eclair notices this and asks him why he's being so quiet. She asks him to entertain her, to which he replies with asking her if she's really okay with marrying someone she just met. Haruhi is able to catch up with the car, and hastily she directs the carriage onto the main road. This stuns both Tamaki and Eclair. Tamaki calls out to Haruhi in worry. He demands for her to stop the carriage, but she replies with begging for him to return to the Host Club. She assures him that nobody wants him to leave, but he disagrees, calling the Host Club a burden to everyone. This pushes Haruhi over the emotional edge, and she scolds him for not being able to tell when the hosts were joking or being serious.

Haruhi then admits to Tamaki how much she enjoys being a host. She reaches her hand out to him, and he reaches to take her hand but is stopped short by Eclair. Just then the horses slam against the side of the road and cause Haruhi to fall off the side. Tamaki calls to her, but is unable to do anything because Eclair is stopping him. Eclair can see how much Tamaki loves Haruhi, so she lets him go and allows him to jump after her. He mouths something to Eclair before jumping towards Haruhi. They grab hands and Tamaki pulls her into a tender hug. Haruhi returns the hug and the two of them fall into the water together.

The episode ends with the Host Club dancing at what appears to be a grand ball. Haruhi is wearing a dress, so it is suggested that she finally came out with her true gender. The final dance goes to Haruhi and Tamaki, who are last seen standing under a sky emitted in exploding fireworks. Kyoya and Tamaki's fathers are seen talking about their sons. Kyoya's father mentions that he is wanting Kyoya to marry Haruhi, and Tamaki's father replies with "It looks like we have less in common then I thought," suggesting that he wanted Haruhi to marry Tamaki as well.
