==The show starts with Kaoru speaking of a carriage that has been cast a spell on to become a carriage. This carriage turns out to be driven by Tamaki with the host members being passengers. The scene changes to Haruhi's class, 1-A, is deciding on what to do for the class's Halloween party. The Class Representatives, Kazukiyo Soga and Momoka Kurakano, bring their class meeting to order. All the ideas of the rest of the class are overshadowed by Renge and her powerful motor. She suggests that the class should hold a Test of Courage Tournament on Halloween. Hikaru and Kaoru also comes up with the idea that the loser should have their name and picture placed on the front of the school newspaper. While the host club is getting ready for Halloween, cosplaying as vampires, the twins and Haruhi inform the Host Club that they can't be of service until after Halloween. After Tamaki realizes he can't live without Haruhi for an entire week, Nekozawa interrupts the Host Club and they all decide to play a trick on the twins and Haruhi. Meanwhile, the class rep, Soga, is freaking out about the haunted tournament and confesses this to Haruhi. The twins decide that they should pick Soga as their partner along with Haruhi for the tournament. On the night of Halloween, Haruhi tries to unsuccessfully make Soga calm by reading him a book while the twins try to freak Soga out. They learn that he has a crush on the other class rep, Kurakano. Hikaru and Kaoru try to make fun of him for it until they are scared out of their wits by who they think is Team A when it is truly the Host Club. Tamaki pretends to be the ghost of the Ouran Clocktower while Mori and Honey go less subtle as Frankenstein and Wolfman, respectively. This scares the group and they get separated. Haruhi and Hikaru get caught in a net while Soga and Kaoru get locked in the science room by Nekozawa's servants. Kyoya is not participating and instead reading a book. During this time of separation for the twins, Hikaru becomes freaked out because he is scared that Kaoru is hurt. Kaoru is the exact opposite when he is separted and even talks to Soga about the spell that is cast over the Host Club that keeps everything the same. Soga is completely oblivious to the entire sitation that Kaoru is working out in his head, but he can relate because he is just satisfied with being the class rep with Kurakano. When Haruhi cuts her and Hikaru out of the net while in an awkward position, she states that Hikaru is worse without Kaoru while Kaoru is nicer and not as crazy and wild. Tamaki watches nearby as this entire scene happens and wants to intervene, but Nekozawa holds Tamaki back from doing anything rash. After they escape, Hikaru runs off to find Kaoru and they go outside where everyone else is. The rest of the class were worried about them and decided to even stop the tournament just to look for them. While Class 1-A stands there, Nekozawa scares the entire class by casting a shadow of Belzenef. The next day, on the front page of the paper, the entire Class of 1-A is known as the Cowards of 1-A. While the show ends, Kaoru contemplates what will happen when the carriage once again becomes a pumpkin.
